Overcharged by utilities?

Looks like much of America is getting ready to be hosed down on thier electric bills. I personally received a flyer telling me not to be shocked ( No pun intended! ) by a huge increase in my March bill because of a storm that lasted a week or less. Granted it was a major headache for those who lost power, been there done that in the past. In fact we lost power for about a week a couple of years back, there was no talk of increased rates or refunds for the inconvenience then! Such is life I reckon. The question is though do we have to sit back and allow such slip shod treatment from big businesses as they siphon as much as humanly possible from our bank accounts. For me the answer is a resounding no! No, the threats to penalize me for putting up solar panels will not hold me back, no, telling me I must conserve energy because they simply can not keep up with demand will not cause fear in me personally. There is, I think an answer and that is a home battery bank! Granted it’s not for everyone! And no, not everyone should attempt to build thier own as I am doing. They can however be bought if one isn’t confident in thier abilities! Long story short corporations have held us as a captive audience for far too long! Time to stand up and show them that people were able to survive long before thier greed kicked in and that we can do it again. They fear as does the political class, people coming together and realizing that thier services are not nearly as critical as they want us to believe! Not exactly sure how big I will go with my system but to be honest I think I want one powerwall for each day of the week. Once I figure out how to get it to automatically switch between battries I’ll have it made. I already have solar panels and will be adding more and I also plan on a wind generator or two to help on the cloudy days! I have found a source the 18650 battries I’ll be using to start anyways and may switch to new as I go. Best of luck to everyone else who decides to go this route. I will be logging my efforts here and sharing links as I go.
